An iconic piece of midcentury design from Norway. The Krobo bench was designed by Torbjørn Afdal (1917-1999) as a multipurpose bench for producer Bruksbo. Afdal's designs are characterized by a minimalist aesthetic, with a focus on clean lines, simple forms and high quality materials. This beautiful rosewood bench can also be used as a low coffee table or plinth.

About the Designer
Torbjørn Afdal (1917-1999) was a Norwegian furniture designer, best known for his work in the mid-century modern style. Afdal was born in Bergen, Norway and studied at the Bergen School of Arts and Crafts. Some of Afdal's most well-known designs include the "Krobo" bench (1958), the "Kroken" chair (1963), and the "Bukkestolen" chair (1960), which all feature his signature clean lines and use of wood.
Afdal worked with a number of prominent Scandinavian furniture manufacturers throughout his career, including Bruksbo, Nesjestranda Møbelfabrik, and Vatne Møbler. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout Europe and the United States, and his designs are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of mid-century modern design.
