About the Manufacturer

'Raak' was founded in 1954 by Carel Otto Lockhorn (1923 - 2004) and is one of the most important Dutch lighting manufacturers of the 20th century. Raak's tagline was "Enlightened Architecture" which gave the brand prestige in producing designs that harmoniously integrate with sophisticated, high concept interiors. Raak's glass and metal, floor lamps, pendant lamps and wall lamps have an aesthetic that is both elegant and futuristic through high-quality materials with innovative shapes.

The name Raak implies a company that hits the nail on the head with its products, both in function and design. The term lighting architecture was described at the time as follows: "advising lighting that adapts to and supports the architecture".
